As founder and trustee of PVR Nest, Mr. Ajay Bijli has provided the vision to PVR's CSR social intervention plan. The vision includes establishing PVR Community Centres for the youth, children and families to come together for their joy, happiness and fulfilment. Under his guidance, the PVR CSR team encourages dialogues and partnerships with civil societies, people, organizations, corporate bodies and NGOs, leading to continued success and recognition for our programs 'Childscapes', 'Cineart', 'Green Films' etc
Mr. Bijli, being an Entertainment entrepreneur, thought beyond the use of cinema as a source of entertainment to a place that connects with its environs by supporting lives of around 300 children who live in and around PVR complexes providing better living through education, nutritious healthy meal, health facilities and employment opportunities hence, evolving empowered ambassadors of tomorrow. He is a social innovator and has pioneered the unusual and creative medium of cinema and art to educate, sensitize and build capacities of more than 1, 00,000 children from diverse backgrounds on sustainability issues and develop their skills & capacities in visual and performing arts.
Mrs. Selena Bijli is instrumental in laying down a strong foundation and a shared vision for PVR Nest. She has been the force behind setting up a competent leadership and benchmarks to assess constant growth for the various programs run by the company towards the upliftment of more than 300 children at risk who come every day to PVR cinema complexes to earn their livelihoods. She is a person of many strengths –a doctor by education; Mrs Bijli maintains high level of consciousness and action. She zealously strives to extend sustained support towards the daily mid day meals, life skills, healthcare & medical camps, immunization, counseling, mainstreaming to schools and vocational training extended to the children that we support.
A social innovator in her own right, Mrs Bijli pioneered the use of the creative medium of cinema and art to educate, sensitize and build capacities of more than one lac children from diverse backgrounds. PVR Nest's annual program 'Cineart' sensitizes students on sustainability issues and helps them develop their skills & capacities in visual and performing arts. She has authored books such as 'Meri Swasthya Yatra' and 'My Green Book' on community health and environment. Her contribution to the society reflects in the recognition she has reveived over the past decade, including awards such as the '23rd Bharat Nirman Award for Excellence in social service for today’s India '11, Commendation by Global Green Awards for CineArt project '10, Karmaveer Puraskaar for Holistic CSR Initiatives by iCONGO '08, 'Retailer of the Year Award for CSR activity' '07 at the Indian Retail Forum & Delhi Government’s 'Bhagidari Award for commendable work with street children' '06.
She has also worked closely with Former President Late Dr. APJ Kalam’s office, the Chief Minister’s of Delhi, International NGO’s, Market and Resident associations UN agencies.
Mr. Sanjeev manages film acquisition and programming activities of PVR. Mr. Kumar has over 12 years of experience in the film industry and has been involved with PVR since its inception. He has been instrumental in setting up the company’s relationship with various Hollywood Studios including Miramax Newline, IEG and Zee MGM. Mr Kumar plays an important role in script review and selection, determining the content selection for the cinemas and is also closely involved in the development and growth strategy of PVR.
Sanjai Vohra is a B.Sc graduate from the St. Stephens College, Delhi University and has completed his PGDM from IIM(Ahmadabad). He has more than 25 years of varied experience in the Banking Industry including (P)Equity Finance, Risk Management and Various Debt Products. Sanjai was also associated with City Bank and JP Morgan.
Narayan Ramachandran is a B.Tech (Chemical Engineering) graduate and holds an MBA and CFA. With a rich experience in global investment, Narayan is the Co-Chairman of Unitus Capital and the Director on the board of Ratnakar Bank.
Mr. NC Gupta is Head of the Legal, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer at PVR Limited Mr Gupta is qualified Chartered Accountant & Company Secretary. With an experience of more than 41 years, Mr Gupta has been providing exceptional support to PVR Limited through his wisdom and foresight.
Deepa Menon is presently the Senior Vice President, Corporate Responsibility in PVR Limited. She has International diplomas on Corporate Sustainability from the Harvard Business School (HBS) Massachusetts, Boston, United States AID agency (International Volunteer Program) and Swedish Institute of Management program, Sweden Embassy.
Mrs. Menon has 18 years of developmental experience in social - sector stakeholder relations and management, corporate social responsibility, program , financial and budgeting management, social and development communication, public and corporate, -industry- governmental affairs. She has led developmental and community empowerment programs and is the founder head of PVR Nest, a CSR initiative of PVR Ltd. Presently she is also managing external communications in PVR Ltd.
She started her development career with Katha (India nonprofit organization) and later moved into well known International nonprofit sector (INGO) - Heinrich Boell Foundation, Action Aid International and USAID – South Asian Regional Equity Program. She has traveled widely to UK, USA, Europe, Africa, South America, South East and South Asia. She has received several awards on Corporate Social Responsibility.
